Who's the Real Class Clown on Community?
IGN Series creator Dan Harmon, along with cast members Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Alison Brie, Danny Pudi, Donald Glover, Yvette Nicole Brown and Ken Jeong, … |
Michael Adams from WordyMofo.com has interviewed our own beloved Joel McHale in one of the best interviews I’ve seen with him so far. In the interview Joel talks about his show Community, his role on The Soup and his own satirical take on Hollywood on a whole.
Here is a snipped of the huge 12 page interview:
“But in the past year McHale has also become a bona fide celeb himself as leading man of Community, in which he plays Jeff Winger, a disbarred laywer forced to return to community college. That the sitcome was this year a surprise hit – regularly drawing five million viewers and garnering three Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Best Actor for McHale – was all the justification NBC needed to put him up there on the NOKIA Theatre stage with some of the biggest names in television … fit to dance shoulder-to-shoulder with Don Draper, Liz Lemon, and, er, Kate Gosselin.”

You can get the details of the charity auction and t-shirt at the link above.
Current bid for the ”Mosquitoes Suck” t-shirt at the time of writing is $25.00
You’ve got until 11th November (that’s when the auction ends).
Well done Joel, we knew you were a nice guy under that witty exterior.
Great article by the Examiner about Joel McHale and Alison Brie’s roles on both Community and their other projects (Joel does The Soup, Alison is on Mad Men playing Trudy Campbell)
The interview, by Examiner reporter Carla Hay talks about their characters on Community and their other roles in Hollywood.
Here is an excerpt:
There’s such great chemistry with everyone in the “Community” case. How do you continue to maintain that on screen?
Brie: I think it’s easy. It all comes really naturally. I think our chemistry on the set and our friendships with each other and we really lucked out for us getting this amazing cast that are kind of … We really click together and it’s just always been really easy … It just naturally drips over into scripted material and stuff like that.
McHale: I mean, if we had the free time I swear to you, people would be going out to dinner after every day of work just because we actually get along that well. Some people keep teasing us like, “Oh, it’s all going to come crashing down.” But at this point, I don’t think it’s ever going to, I mean, it’s great. I’ll have these friends for life.
