Open Season 2 is released today on DVD and it includes Joel McHale as the voice of Elliot the overly energetic mule deer. (The voice of Elliot was played by Ashton Kutcher in the first movie)
Open Season 2 opens with the pending wedding of Elliot (McHale) and Giselle (Jane Krakowski) however poor Elliot is having doubts and confides in best friend Boog (Mike Epps). On a journey to figure out what he really wants, and to rescue their friend Mr. Weenie, Elliot must overcome a myriad of adventures to finally determine his true hearts desire.
The sequel has a noticeable budget drop but don’t let that put you off. While the animation is not a smooth as the original, what it lacks in picture quality it more that makes up for in laughs.
The new blood brings a comedic twist that the first was lacking. With Joel McHale’s slapstick comedy and appearances from legends such as Billy Connolly (squirrel McSquizzy) Open Season 2 is much more charming and definitely funnier movie and should appeal to all ages.
