Yes, I made it to the Sydney Joel McHale Stand Up show and it was sooo worth it. He was hilarious (I expected nothing less).
Joel’s stand up routine started with the usual funny Soup jokes and the obligatory Ryan Seacrest ribbing all of which had the entire audience in stitches of laughter.
One thing I wasn’t expecting was how much he talked about his family which I really liked. The jokes about his son were so funny (made even funnier by the fact that I have a two year old and can totally relate). And his grandmother sounds like a legend.
We also learn more about his wife Sarah than I wanted to know when he recalls a story about when she got bitten by a bee on the .. um .. ah .. what would Oprah say? Oh yes, on her va-jay-jay. Ouch!
He looked quite tired which is understandable considering he got in at 6.am that morning and this was his second show but that didn’t stop him performing at his absolute best.
If you ever get a chance to see one of his comedy shows then run fast and grab those tickets – if you love The Soup, you’ll love Joel McHale’s comedy show.
And at the end I got to meet him and get my Spaghetti Cat t-shirt signed and told him that I was responsible for this website. I actually think he was a bit surprised that someone from Australia was doing it because he said “and you live here, in Australia?†to which I replied “Yes, here in Sydneyâ€.
I got the impression that he wasn’t that impressed with this website though because he made a sarcastic comment about one of the posts I have here (Joel if you want me to take it down just tell me), but he did say that his mom liked the site (if that’s true then hello to Mrs. McHale).
All in all it was a brilliant night and I had a excellent time.

I agree with everything you said! I went to the second show with my friend who doesn’t watch The Soup or know anything about Joel and he loved it. He was so nice when I met him, got an autograph and a photo, even though he coulsn’t pronunce my name. Hope he comes back really soon!

Great pic! I saw his show back in October and had the best time! I can’t imagine him saying anything truly negative about your site- what could he possibly have to be offend by? All your praise and compliments?
As much as I’d like to see him live again- I hope he takes some time off soon to be with his family. He deserves a break! If Mrs. Mc Hale does read this (his mom, that is)- Thanks for raising such an adorable and talented son!
o my thats really awesome! ime a big fan of the show and of him but must of missed hes last show that said he was coming. i missed out going to his shows! any idea when he is leaving? or what else he is doing here in Sydney? I want to meet him!! haha. thx
